Duduk craftsmanship is local and it is located in the Caucasus and Anatolia. It is not impossible to find crafts making Duduk elsewhere in the world, but the origin of the know-how of the instrument comes from the regions mentioned.
The Duduk offered by Maison Duduk are all prepared in Armenia by experienced craftsmen, with Armenian apricot wood, known to be the ideal wood for making the instrument.
Are Duduk fragile instruments?
Duduks can be considered relatively fragile instruments. They are made from wood, which makes them sensitive to variations in temperature and humidity. What's more, their reed mouthpiece can be delicate. We recommend handling them with care, and storing them in an appropriate place when not in use to avoid damage.
