Work and Commitments
Our Work
Since its creation, La Maison du Duduk® has set itself the mission of becoming the leading French-speaking reference for this instrument. Thanks to digital platforms and the translation of our content into several languages, our ambition now extends to becoming a global reference.
Our work is structured around three main pillars:
To achieve this, we have compiled a complete and verified body of documentation to ensure the authentic and accurate transmission of knowledge surrounding this unique instrument.
Our team—composed of professional musicians, craftsmen, and cultural enthusiasts—actively engages in research and historical reconstruction, providing a reliable and enriching resource for all Duduk lovers. Our website serves as the showcase of this work.
Our Commitments
La Maison du Duduk® aspires to become a key reference for all resources related to this instrument, and for that, we commit to upholding several fundamental principles.
Within Our Store
Alongside our online store, where we offer instruments and accessories of professional standard carefully selected by our team of musicians, we pay particular attention to the choice of our products and artisans.
We actively support local craftsmanship, faithful to the historical tradition of the Duduk, by promoting the know-how of luthiers and their influence on the musical scene, both locally and internationally. Our commitment is based on the promotion of authentic handmade production, standing in contrast to industrialized, standardized, and impersonal manufacturing.
Regarding Our Encyclopedic Work
La Maison du Duduk® is committed to building a complete, rigorous, and respectful knowledge base dedicated to the history of the Duduk, its playing techniques, its evolution, and its many variants. This documentation effort only has value if it respects the deep culture from which this instrument originates.
Present in several regions of the Caucasus and Anatolia, the Duduk exists in different local traditions, both in its making and in its practice. Faced with this diversity, we affirm our determination to preserve and highlight the Armenian identity of the Duduk, recognized by UNESCO in 2008 as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in the name of Armenia.
Our work aims to protect a centuries-old heritage carried by generations of musicians, master craftsmen, and oral traditions. Each resource published by La Maison du Duduk® is designed to contribute to this mission: making this knowledge accessible without ever altering its cultural integrity.
Showcasing Artists
La Maison du Duduk® dedicates a full section to artists and events related to the world of the Duduk, allowing visitors to follow its global news. We collect and publish in-depth biographies that retrace the musical journeys of emblematic musicians, while also highlighting their recordings, recent projects, and collaborations.
This section not only honors the historical figures of the Duduk but also shines a light on contemporary talents who renew and enrich its repertoire. Through this effort, we seek to provide artists with true visibility and allow audiences to discover the richness and diversity of Duduk interpretation around the world.
Facilitating Learning
La Maison du Duduk® is committed to making the learning of the instrument easier by offering complete, accessible, and well-structured educational resources for all levels. Aware that transmission lies at the heart of any musical tradition’s survival, we provide practical tools to support every musician, whether beginner or advanced.
This includes structured online courses, video tutorials covering both basic and advanced techniques, connections with specialized teachers, and a wide range of educational materials: sheet music, technical guides, practice tips, and resources adapted to self-learning.
Through this approach, La Maison du Duduk® seeks to deliver quality knowledge, faithful to tradition, while also meeting the needs of a new generation of musicians with openness, rigor, and respect for the instrument.
Supporting Existing Structures
La Maison du Duduk® is committed to actively supporting organizations already engaged in promoting and transmitting the Duduk. Aware of the importance of the existing cultural fabric, we collaborate with associations, institutions, musicians, and independent initiatives that also work to keep this instrument alive.
Whether through educational projects, artistic events, or documentary productions, we put our resources at their disposal to strengthen their impact, encourage synergies, and together contribute to a rich and sustainable ecosystem around the Duduk.
