Levon Khozian

A Voice of the Duduk Between Tradition and Modernity

Immersed from an early age in Franco-Armenian sounds, Levon developed a deep artistic sensitivity that blends singing, dance, and music. At just 5 years old, he joined the Araxe dance troupe of JAF Marseille, an ensemble he would later preside over from 2020 to 2024, and simultaneously began learning the Duduk, the emblematic instrument of the Armenian soul.

After initial training at the JAF music school, where he joined the traditional orchestra Sassoun, Levon further honed his craft in Armenia over the course of three years. Studying with masters such as Georgy Minasov, he absorbed the essence of this ancient instrument, which soon became his inner voice. For him, the Duduk goes beyond music: it embodies a breath of history, a vessel of emotion and memory.

Carried by this mastery, Levon has multiplied collaborations with artists from diverse backgrounds, jazz, classical, pop, and world music, and has performed on many prestigious stages, including the Zénith de Paris. His expressive playing has also drawn the attention of the film world: in 2015, he contributed his musical touch to Une histoire de fou by Robert Guédiguian.

Alongside his instrumental work, Levon has continued to pursue his path as a singer, earning recognition on The Voice (season 14) in 2024, following a year of intensive vocal training at the Dalida Institute.

Today, Levon continues to bridge East and West through the breath of the Duduk. A passionate instrumentalist and dedicated performer, he tirelessly explores new musical territories, remaining faithful to an art deeply rooted in tradition while resolutely looking toward the future.
