Introduction
La Maison du Duduk offers a selection of reeds specially designed for beginners. Created to provide a simple and enjoyable playing experience, they are ideal for discovering the Duduk with ease.
These reeds are soft and comfortable, perfect for starting out without difficulty, even if they do not yet allow you to achieve the warm and characteristic tone of the Duduk. They produce a rather nasal sound, sometimes perceived as less pleasant to the ear, but this stage is essential to get accustomed to the instrument and prepare the transition toward firmer reeds that offer superior acoustic qualities.
Compatible with Duduks sold on our site as well as those from other artisans, they accompany the first steps of learning. At this stage, the priority is not absolute tuning but developing breath control and mastering the basics before progressing to Standard or Premium reeds.

Selection
Our team carries out a rigorous selection process with our partner artisans. Each reed is carefully classified according to precise criteria into Beginner, Standard, or Premium ranges.
Reeds that do not meet our quality standards are systematically returned to the workshop for revision and are never offered for sale.
Quality Control
As a specialized distributor, La Maison du Duduk applies a strict verification protocol on each Beginner reed:
- Tuning (overall intonation)
- Response (reed reactivity)
- Tuning ring compatibility
Each reed is tested 4 weeks after fabrication, allowing us to offer reeds that are already partially broken-in, ensuring greater stability upon delivery.
Returns and Exchanges
La Maison du Duduk fully commits to the quality of its products. If, for any reason, you are not satisfied with your reed, we accept returns at no extra cost.

The performance of reeds may vary depending on the humidity and temperature specific to each region. Since cane is a natural material, it remains particularly sensitive to environmental variations.
To minimize these risks of alteration, each reed is tested by an experienced musician in our Paris workshops, under humidity conditions similar to oceanic climates. This rigorous process ensures stability and tuning adapted to environments where humidity generally remains high.
